Hot Tooth : beta release

The Ζεστό δόντι project aspires towards a paradoxically comforting, hypnotic, arhythmically droned timbral anabasis, a journey upriver to the heart of the blackened sun. This beta release captures a first step in the formal iteration of the project, as a new territory of universally scaled gestures and resonances, and was recorded by invitation in single takes for the Singularity Music Series curated by Alvaro Domene.

Future Ζεστό δόντι releases will site themselves ever deeper in the turbulent interface between anabatic and katabatic flows of sound.


'Consider: the evidential force of a genre. Narratives singing in blood and memory, bones a coral frame on which flesh, strung by centuries on centuries' evolution, trembles in accord with a million years' overtones. Harmonics where that rough beast crouches, fixed across the strands of many times. Plucking. We sing and dance, ever replying, timeless tuneless and what that hidebound claw can catch will repeat itself. What dance is that which we choose? dream? ...or that which rides us; us, not yet even a horse to carry those most ancient forces. Just a singing string. What metal grows crystalline inside blood slackened grey matter a double a soggy frame colonized by cut glass facets with texts astride, and even '...the briskest riders thrown.' If that which has been, by inexorable force extracts a timefree stutter: where then the gap through which we can slip, give it the lie, pull the fast one, make the getaway, hightail it... down.'

Tracks were recorded in single takes in July 2021. LoopyHD was used to remix the sessions in single, performative remix takes.
